STATUS: Completed

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA

A former sign shop transformed into a headquarters and training campus for a nonprofit offering paid construction apprenticeships to students.

LOUMIS Air Scope of Work:

Installed a new HVAC system for the classrooms and workshop areas, including 3 DX split systems and exposed ductwork.

UnCommon Construction transformed a former sign fabrication shop into its first permanent headquarters and training campus at 1120 Freret Street. The renovation included a new roof, mezzanine, office spaces, staircases, kitchens, and green infrastructure upgrades. The facility now features a two-story office and community space, a 2,000-sf workshop, and an outdoor construction yard. This expansion allows the nonprofit to triple its impact, offering paid apprenticeships and workforce training for high school students and adult learners. The campus serves as a hub for hands-on education, leadership development, and community engagement.
